Andressa Maia is a MA Candidate at UNM and has been a Portuguese as a Second Language instructor in Governmental institutions, such as the American, British, Canadian and Swiss consulates in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Andressa also has experience working with foreign government committees traveling abroad during the World Cup and Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. She is currently a Portuguese TA at UNM. Her primary interests are in contemporary Brazilian and Latin-American Literature and Cultural productions. She is interested in (re)presentation of migration and border crossings (frontiers, language, time and space) in contemporary Brazilian and Latin-American literature and cultural productions.
