MA Candidate in Southwest Studies
Department of Spanish and Portuguese
Angelica received her BA of Chemistry and Spanish as a second major from UNM. Her interests in southwestern literature include Spanish colonization, Native American literature preservation, and Chicano/a literature studies, specifically, of the northern New Mexico area-where she was proudly raised. Because of her experience teaching English as a Second Language in Chile, she intends to study Second Language Education of non-native speakers. Her goals are to teach Spanish as a Second Language, preserve her own culture in New Mexico, and teach English across Latin American countries.
