PhD Candidate in Hispanic Literature
Department of Spanish and Portuguese
Anna is an ABD PhD candidate in the field of Latin American Literature. Her interest lies in the area of female authors from Latin America, particularly Mexico and Puerto Rico, who wrote during the 1960's, 70's and 80's. She is investigating how these authors confront systems of legality and science and the oppressive hold they can have on female subjectivity. Anna has taught three different courses at the 300 level: Cuando las mujeres hablan (a survey of female authors from Mexico and Puerto Rico during the 20th century), Poetas Caribeñas (20th century), and Developing Spanish Writing Skills (Spanish composition).
