Garrett is a Wisconsin native and graduate of the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities with BA in Spanish. His research interests in the realm of Hispanic Linguistics include, but are not limited to, Second Language Acquisition, Bilingual Education, and the relation between language and gender identity. Garrett is also is interested in researching social justice issues concerning governmental discrimination and public policy reform facing the LGBTQ community throughout the Americas.
