MA Candidate in Southwest Studies

Julianna is a M.A. candidate in the Hispanic Southwest Studies program. She graduated from the University of New Mexico Summa Cum Laude with a B.A. in Spanish and Communications and a minor in Honors. Born and raised in Northern California, she has accrued a range of research interests during her time in New Mexico, including Chicano/a/x identity and literature, sociolinguistic varieties of Spanish, and southwestern literature. Julianna attended the Sabine Ulibarri Spanish as a Heritage Language (SHL) program during her undergraduate career at UNM, and now returns an SHL instructor.
