Get Involved with S & P

The Department of Spanish & Portuguese is a proud partner of various student organizations within the University of New Mexico. The organizations listed below offer a variety of interests to provide graduate and undergraduate students the opportunity to enrich their co-curricular experience. With a series of events ranging from Brazilian carnivals to writing workshops, they help produce a diverse array of student activities that benefit and enhance the experience of those learning about the language and cultures of the Spanish and/or Portuguese speaking countries.

UNM Spanish and Portuguese Graduate Student Association (SPGSA)

Their mission is to further the education and research opportunities of its members, increase Spanish and Portuguese cultural awareness, sponsor and support departmental activities, establish and build contacts with other organizations with related fields of interest, and promote the interests of its members within the departmental administrative process. UNM Resolanas

Resolanas are cultural activities with the goal to promote comradery and provide the opportunity to develop Spanish proficiency beyond the classroom for students in beginning and intermediate Spanish courses. Learn more about their events at UNM Resolanas.

UNM Brazil Club
