Biography

Laura started her college education in New Mexico. She graduated from the Central New Mexico Community College with an Associates in Liberal Arts and Theatre. As she moved to the University of New Mexico, she graduated with a BA in Music and a second major in Spanish. Currently, she is part of the Spanish MA program at the same university. Her areas of interest are social justice focusing on race and gender, the African diaspora and the Afrolatinx identity in the USA, and the social and linguistic dynamics in the US Southwest in terms of Hispanic heritage.
