Biography
Érick Pineda is a Ph.D. Candidate in Spanish with a specialization in Hispanic Linguistics. He holds an M.A. from the University of Colorado Boulder. His research interests include language change, variation, languages in contact, and Spanish as a second language. Érick's doctoral work focuses on the linguistic interaction between Spanish and the P'urhépecha language in the Lake Pátzcuaro region of Michoacán, Mexico, analyzing resulting aspectual and morphosyntactic variations. Additionally, he currently serves as the Assistant Coordinator and supervisor for the Spanish as a Second Language Program (SSL) at UNM.
