Biography
Fátima Dutra holds a B.A degree in Social Work from her native Brazil. In 2015 she earned a M.A degree in Spanish Applied Linguistics from Purdue University, where she also worked as a teaching assistant, teaching Spanish and Portuguese language and culture. Fátima has experience as a Portuguese–English translator for Project CODE in the Department of Internal Medicine/Epidemiology at the University of New Mexico (UNM). She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Hispanic Linguistics, where she also works as a teaching assistant in Portuguese and Spanish. Her research interests include social inclusion, critical pedagogy, language attitudes, linguistic ideologies, and the experiences of populations affected by HIV/AIDS.
