Biography
“Fatima received her Bachelor's of Science degree in Biology and her Bachelor’s of Art degree in Spanish with a minor in Chemistry from UNM in May of 2024. Originally from Sunland Park, NM, Fatima has lived and experienced the life of La Frontera of Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua and El Paso, Texas since birth. During her undergraduate work in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese, Fatima gained a deeper appreciation and understanding of the Spanish language and her culture and roots, leading her to further her studies of the Southwest by beginning a Master of Art degree in Spanish with a concentration in Southwest Studies in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at UNM in Fall 2024. Fatima hopes to one day serve the Hispanic community and the Southwest as a certified physician in the medical field.”
