Biography
Professor Margo Milleret arrived at UNM in 1996 and was granted tenure and promotion in 2001. She has served as undergraduate advisor and Coordinator of the Portuguese language program for many years. She directed summer programs in Fortaleza, Brazil and has recently organized and directed a service learning summer experience in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. She published Latin American Women On/In Stages (SUNY UP) in 2004. Her teaching areas are Brazilian and Spanish American theater, Brazilian literature, Brazilian culture and pragmatics. Her most recent research areas are Portuguese program development and program evaluation. Since 2004, she has researched and re-designed the Portuguese curriculum at UNM including introducing new courses to meet students’ needs. During 2010-2011 she was on sabbatical conducting research on the growth of Portuguese enrollments in the USA. Her newest project is a handbook for Portuguese instructors and program developers.Research Interests
