Biography
Elizabeth Zavala is pursuing her PhD in Hispanic Linguistics at the University of New Mexico. Her research interests include language contact and heritage speakers. This semester, she is writing her proposal, which focuses on the sociolinguistic activity at Hatch, NM. She is also working as a TA, teaching Spanish as Heritage Language (SHL) Level I and IV classes. After completing her PhD, she plans to work at a university as an associate professor and possibly direct a heritage program.
