The Spanish and Portuguese Graduate Student Association (SPGSA) at the University of New Mexico is pleased to announce the Spring 2021 Graduate Student Symposium. We welcome graduate students to submit abstracts of up to 300 words in English, Portuguese or Spanish for presentations in Hispanic Literature, Hispanic Linguistics, Portuguese Literature, and Southwest and Latin American Studies. Research on these topics are encouraged but not limited to:

While only graduate students can present, the event is open to all scholars, including undergraduate students. This is a great opportunity to present research using a visual format, with direct interaction and discussion.

Abstracts should be submitted in .pdf or .doc format to spgsa@unm.edu 

Please title your email “Abstract for 2021 symposium”. Do not include any personal information in the abstract.

Important dates:

Deadline for submission of abstracts: April 4 , 2021.

Notification of acceptance: April 11 , 2021.

Conference dates: Saturday, April 24 , 2021.
